Question 1

Do I need to have modeling experience?  Where do I put my hands?  Where do I look?  I'm nervous!   AHHHH!!!!!

Accepted Answer

No - not at all!  In fact, the vast majority of people I work with have never modeled before in their life! I will coach you throughout the session.  After a short time, I am pretty sure you'll be doing poses I didn't even think of!

Question 2

Do I need to have Professional Make Up for our Photoshoot?

Accepted Answer

Although it's not 100% necessary, I highly recommend you make this investment.  Your photos and overall look will be better as the years tick by.  Your makeup and hair should be like you are going out on a date or out with the girls.  In other words, not "gym hair/MU" and not "bridesmaid hair/MU".

Question 3

Can I bring a guest with me?

Accepted Answer

Yes - absolutely! You are welcome to bring a guest to your shoot but I ask that you please let them know that they shouldn't interfere with the shoot or try to "help" unless asked.  Also let them know that I usually will put guest to work as an assistant!

Question 4

Why do you require a $100 retainer and is it refundable if I can't make it. When is full payment due?

The $100 locks you into my shoot schedule.   That triggers me to begin the planning process.  Although your retainer is NOT refundable, you can reschedule your shoot within a 12 month period.

Payment must be fully paid-in-full before photos are released to you.

Question 5

What is an "Almost Free" shoot and why do I have to pay $50?

I've learned a valuable lesson through my photography journey: when both parties lack a vested interest, it's easy for one to back out without facing any repercussions. By charging my models a modest fee of $50, the likelihood of them not showing up has significantly diminished, now approaching zero.

Question 6

I paid for the shoot – do I own the photos?

Accepted Answer

When you buy a Movie from Amazon Prime do you own the movie?  When you buy a song on iTunes do you own the song?   Nope.    When you buy photos that we take together, you have Personal Usage Rights License. You can post them on your social media, print them for your home for your personal enjoyment. But if you want to monetize our work, that is a Commercial Usage Right.   Let’s talk about it, share your idea and lets make a TON of money for both of us!

Question 7

Will I be Photoshopped? Will I look like me?

Accepted Answer

Probably and Yes.  Photoshop is the tool that photographers use to straighten, crop, color grade, fix lighting, remove junk in the background.   You have probably also seen a poorly done edits where the person doesn't even look like them anymore or they have "doll skin".  I don't do that.   Prior to shoot, we will discuss how much, if any skin editing you want.  I will usually remove blemishes but when it comes to scars or other features, we will discuss it ahead of time. You will look like you - I promise.  😇

What Payment forms do you accept?  Do I need to pay in advance?

Accepted Answer

Right now, I accept Venmo, CashApp and G-Pay.  I don't accept PayPal.

Other than the $50 Deposit to lock in your shoot date, full payment in advance of our shoot is not required, but full payment is required prior to me beginning your edits or delivering your photos.  If you do Pay In Full prior to our shoot date, you will receive a 10% incentive.

Question 9

Do I need to be Show Shredded to get good photos?  Do I need to be a Competitor?

Accepted Answer

Definitely not.  As we all know, how our bodies look at any given time is cyclical.  Sometimes we're show-ready, and sometimes we're bulking, and sometimes we're just walking around.  I will shoot competitive athletes or any woman who wants great & memorable photos!

Question 10

What clothes should I bring?

My approach to fitness photography has been to show a 360-view of the athlete.  That means I want to showcase her in fitness attire but also casual, swimwear and going-out dresses too.   So by bringing clothes from various aspects of your life, we'll capture the real you.   Prior to the shoot, we will talk a lot about the clothes and looks we want to get.

Can I order extra edits or non-edited photos?  Can I edit the photos I buy?

Accepted Answer

Yes!  Each package (https://www.f2f-photography.com/registration)contains a certain number of Professional Edits.  However, you can always order additional edits for $45 each.   You may also want to purchase non-edited photos for $25 Ea.

Yep, today's phone editing apps are pretty dope!  I'm not a super big fan of people editing their own photos but I've learned that people are going to edit their photos anyway - why fight it?   Pro Tip:  Less is more.  Don't make yourself look like you have Barbie Doll skin.

Question 12

Do you provide a Proof Gallery or Tear Sheet?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I use a website called Pixisets that allows you to pick out your favs from your private gallery.   When you are done, you click a button that says "Send to Photographer" and I'll get an email letting me know you're done picking out your favs.  I will then begin the editing process.
